Everything You Need To Know About Blu Atlas Atlantis

Blu Atlas Atlantis has been making rounds in the fragrance community in recent times. There had been so much hype and tons of questions about this fragrance.

It has been at the top of most reviews as the “best cologne for men,” or “top fragrances for men,” etc. But reading reviews on forums, it is a different story from users who bought this fragrance.

In this article, I’ll go through all the relevant pieces of information to help you decide if Blu Atlas Atlantis is worth the rave or your money.

About Blu Atlas Atlantis

Blu Atlas, a brand that produces skin care products for men, launched Atlantis—a masculine scent—in early 2022.

The idea of Atlantis was to recreate the untamed, fresh scents and sights of the coastal jungle of Bali.

Blu Atlas aimed to inspire adventure and wanderlust in the modern man. Atlantis is the first and only fragrance from Blue Atlas.

I did not find any information about the perfumer behind the brand.

I discovered that when it launched, Atlantis came in a transparent bottle and was redesigned as the matte black sophisticated bottle we know today.

The packaging and presentation feel and look premium. The atomizer is noteworthy, which also comes with a magnetic cap.

The Hype About Blu Atlas Atlantis

I watched a YouTuber the other day—I don’t remember who now—and she mentioned that most of the expense of producing a perfume goes into marketing, which accounts for about 90%.

For Blu Atlas, it is probably 98% because of the guerilla marketing strategy for the perfume.

They reached out to every beauty and fragrance influencer you could think of. They sent out free samples and sponsored fragrance YouTube videos and blog posts.

Earning the number one spots on all these platforms.

This would translate into tremendous revenue and, of course, more marketing budget to get the word out there as Atlantis being the “best fragrance for men.”

But is it? More on this later.

The Perfume Guy gave an honest review about this fragrance in his video. He said Blu Atlas reached out to him to send him a free bottle of Atlantis and some of their other products. I’d say he gave an honest review. You might find the video insightful.

What Does Blu Atlas Atlantis Smell Like?

At first sniff, Atlantis opens with fresh and citrusy notes.

The accords are not over the top. It is not a bold, captivating whiff you’d find in other colognes with such popularity.

The freshness is akin to a powdery accord, which you might get a sniff of through the scent journey of this fragrance.

As the fragrance journeys through the mid, you get more fruity, sweet accords of peach and apricot.

Apricot is the most prominent note throughout the fragrance, with the powdery note rounding it off nicely.

As it dries down, you get more of an earthy, musky scent with some freshness still going around it as it sits close to the skin.

Honestly, I think it is a well-blended and nicely put-together perfume. I think it lacks the complexity and sophistication some perfumes at its price range have.

Nonetheless, Atlantis smells OK.

Performance of Blu Atlas Atlantis

The performance of this perfume is not impressive.

The projection lasts 45 minutes before it settles close to the skin.

The sillage is non-existent, and longevity is about 5 hours on the skin before you need to reapply.

You might get more out of the performance if you spray on your clothes.

The cologne is versatile to wear through the year but will perform more in spring and summer, but remember to douse yourself with it if you want it to last for the better part of the day.

Price

A bottle of Atlantis costs $100 on their website.

Should You Buy The Blu Atlas Atlantis?

Yes, but only when it is half the price. Why?

Atlantis is good, but it is not great. The hype, the rave, and the guerilla marketing around this cologne skyrocketed to the top of many lists as the “best” perfume for men” or “must-have fragrance for men.”

Expectations were high for this fragrance, but it was not worth the media attention it got.

If the price was reasonable, say $50 or less. I am sure people would be satisfied after purchasing a flacon.

If you’re a Curious George, there is no harm in picking up a bottle if you have some spare cash.
